The dongle is required to connect the mouse via a radio channel at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. I’ll add that the mouse connects almost instantly over the radio channel; after pairing, via Bluetooth, the mouse also connects quickly, but a little longer than over the radio channel.

I tested the mouse for both connection methods, to different devices, including computers on different versions of Windows, and also used it with a set-top box and a TV directly. I did not observe any malfunctions in operation.

When charging, the mouse signals with a dim red glow. Depending on the intensity of use, a fully charged mouse battery will last from one to two weeks of use. I spend a lot of time at the computer, 8 or more hours a day. A full charge lasts me for a week. To save energy, the mouse automatically turns off the backlight, and then turns off completely if it is left without moving for a long time. When the device is low on battery, the mood lighting turns off completely. By this sign you can understand that the mouse needs to be recharged.

I will add that the mouse can be fully used when it is charging. I use a mouse with a laptop, and even when it's completely dead, it's not a problem. I just connect it to any USB port on my laptop for charging and continue working.
